Burrowing Owl
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 38% big sagebrush shrubland and July maximum temperature (hex. avg.) of 27-33 C and no mixed conifer forest (Northeast Oregon) present. Present in some hexagons with less big sagebrush shrubland (6-37%) if July minimum temperature (hex. med.) is 8-15 C. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative association with April maximum temperature (hex. avg.), July maximum temperature (hex. avg.), the extent of public land, and-to a lesser degree-barren, topographic variation, and road density.
